Understanding Your Water Solutions
What is an Under-Sink RO Purifier and what does it do?
Pain Points Solved: Bad tasting tap water, strong chlorine smell, high TDS (Total Dissolved Solids), and concerns about heavy metals or microplastics.

How it works: Reverse Osmosis (RO) uses a highly advanced 0.0001-micron membrane. It forces water through this microscopic barrier, effectively stripping away 99.99% of impurities, including lead, fluoride, and bacteria.

The Result: You get pure, sweet, bottled-quality water directly from your kitchen sink. It's completely safe for drinking, making baby formula, and brewing better-tasting coffee and tea.

Why do I need a Water Softener in Calgary/Edmonton?
Pain Points Solved: Stubborn white limescale on faucets, dry/itchy skin and frizzy hair after showering, and shortened lifespans of dishwashers and water heaters.

How it works: Alberta's water comes from the Rocky Mountains and is naturally "hard" (rich in Calcium and Magnesium). Our WHR01 Water Softener uses Ion Exchange Resin to trap these hard minerals and replace them with harmless sodium ions.

The Result: Silky soft water throughout your entire home. Your skin will retain moisture, your dishes will dry spotless, your plumbing stays scale-free, and your appliances will last significantly longer.

What is the purpose of a Whole House Water Filter?
Pain Points Solved: Yellow/reddish water, visible sediment, sand, strong chlorine odors, and high levels of iron or manganese caused by aging municipal pipes.

How it works: Installed at the main water entry point of your house, the WHF-21FG uses 5-micron precision filtration to catch large particles, rust, and absorb chemicals before the water even enters your home's internal plumbing.

The Result: Clean, clear, and odor-free water from every single tap, shower, and toilet in your house. It acts as the ultimate first line of defense for your family's health and your home's infrastructure.

What contaminants can the RO system reduce?
Thanks to the advanced 0.0001-micron RO membrane, Waterdrop systems can effectively reduce up to 99.99% of harmful impurities.

This includes, but is not limited to: Chlorine, Chloramine, Lead, Fluoride, Heavy Metals, VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds), PFAS (Microplastics), Rust, Sand, and drastically lowers the TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) of your water.
Is RO water bad for my health because it removes minerals?
No, RO water is perfectly safe and healthy to drink. The majority of essential minerals your body needs come from your daily food intake (like vegetables, dairy, and meat), not from water.

However, if you prefer the taste and health benefits of mineral-rich water, we highly recommend our Premium Alkaline Series (X12 & X14). These advanced systems purify the water first, and then safely add beneficial calcium and magnesium back into the water, resulting in a crisp, slightly alkaline pH.
Can the RO system be used directly with hard water?
While RO systems are capable of filtering hard water, the extreme hardness of water in Calgary and Edmonton can significantly shorten the lifespan of your RO membrane, causing it to clog prematurely.

For the best performance and longest filter life, we highly recommend pairing your Under-Sink RO system with our WHR01 Whole House Water Softener. The softener removes the hard scale first, allowing the RO system to easily and efficiently do its job of purifying your drinking water.
What is the difference between Tankless and Tank RO systems?
Traditional RO systems use a bulky storage tank to collect water slowly. These tanks take up your entire under-sink cabinet and, over time, can become a breeding ground for bacteria (secondary pollution).

All Waterdrop systems we install are Tankless. They feature high-capacity internal pumps (ranging from 600 GPD to 1400 GPD) that filter water instantly as you turn on the faucet. This modern design saves 70% of your under-sink space and ensures every drop of water is fresh and secondary-pollution free.

How do I know when to replace the filters?
You never have to guess! All our modern Waterdrop RO systems come with a Smart Display Faucet or an indicator on the machine itself that tracks filter life in real-time. It will glow yellow/red or beep when a filter needs changing.

Replacing the filter is incredibly easy—just like changing a lightbulb! You can do it yourself in seconds. Watch our quick step-by-step video tutorials below: For Water Softeners, simply add water softener salt to the brine tank every 1-2 months. The smart control valve handles all the complex backwashing and regeneration cycles automatically based on your actual water usage.
